Thank you for showing interest in my VW Corrado 1.8 16v. This is one of the earliest models being registered in August 1989. I have had many Corrados and for this year this is the cleanest one I have had. I really love my Corrados and this has been a real joy to work on and it looks fantastic - super bright red Tornado Red paintwork and extremely clean interior and mechanically as you will see listed below I have spent alot of money to ensure it is right. The car is great to drive and gets a lot of looks and many people have stated how clean and good condition the car is in (especially as it is 20 years old!).
Good points:
Extremely clean car - fantastic bright paintwork - great colour
Drives extremely well
Long MOT - March 23 2010
Taxed until the end of September 2009
New front brake disc and pads
New rear brake discs and pads
New Fox 16" Racing alloys that look great on the car
Four new 195/45/16 directional tyres
New service with oil and filter change, plugs, cap and rotor arm
New Timing Belt change (Cambelt)
Just been fully tuned
Electric Mirrors
Electric Windows
Central locking
Power assisted steering.
Have just valeted the car and it does look absolutely great especially as it is 20 years old - great paintwork - no oxidisation of the paint.
Very tidy interior - blackwatch tartan - super black carpets
Fully working speed activated rear spoiler.
Rear seat belts.
Very straight bodywork.
It is the 1.8 so cheaper fuel and insurance
It is a very early model and according to the websites is becoming more collectable
Bad points:
Re bodywork - I am being picky here - 3 small car park dinks on nearside rear quarter - dentman quoted £40, a small scuff on the front bumper has been touched up and there are a couple of other touch ups on the body, touch in on rear hatch. I am sure the car has had paintwork before but it looks extremely cool.
Drivers seat has a little wear on bolster - easy repair
It has covered 150000 miles - average for year but no service history hence I have carried out the work as listed above.
The headlining has just started to sag so have temporarily pinned it.
No rear parcel shelf .
No aerial.
Power steering started to squeal on full lock.
Needs cold start valve as revs too low until engine warms, only for a few minutes and then fine.
As can be seen - all the bad points can be easily and cheaply sorted and will not take much time/effort to sort - sadly I have run out of time and need some money back for my next project. I recommend coming to see the car to really appreciate it - I live in Lymington, Hampshire and you are welcome to come and view the car. The car is ready to go with long MOT and Tax and as stated has just had a service, all new brakes, tune, tyres and alloys so all the hard work is done. Thank you.
